Board Meetings and Advisory Structure

In terms of the Agronomic Industry Act, the primary duty of the NAB is sound financial management and regulation of the agronomic industry and, to determine the applicable policies in that regard.

Advisory Committees

Section 12 (1) (a) of the agronomic Industry Act makes provision for advisory committees to advise the board in any of its duties. The NAB currently has four advisory committees, Namely; Financial Management Advisory Committee (FMAC), National Mahangu (pearl millet) Advisory Committee (NMAC), National Maize and Wheat Advisory Committee (NMWAC)and National Horticulture Task Team (NHTT). The chairperson of the board serves as ex-officio on all the advisory committees.

Financial Management Advisory Committee (FMAC):

FMAC: The primary duty of FMAC is to maintain sound financial management and regulation of the agronomic industry, as well to determine the applicable policies in that regard. To ensure that the aforementioned.

Commodity Advisory Committees:

NMAC, NMWAC & NHTT are all commodity based advisory committees, therefore each committee focus solely on a specific controlled commodity.  They discuss issues pertaining to the allocated commodity and advise the board.
