Extension of Tenure for Current NAB Board

Board-members-extention-final-1

The Namibian Agronomic Board (NAB) is mandated by the Agronomic Industry Act (Act No. 20 of 1992) to promote the agronomic industry and to facilitate the production, processing, storage and marketing of controlled products in Namibia. Section 4 (1) of the Agronomic Industry Act further allows for the appointment of NAB board members by the Minister of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform (MAWLR) to serve as board members of the NAB.

The Minister of MAWLR, Honourable, Carl H.G Schlettwein has extended the term of the current NAB board members. Thus, the term of the current NAB board members, in accordance with Section 10 of the Public Enterprises Governance Act (PEGA), 2019 (ACT No.1, 2019), is further extended for the period of three months, ending 30 April 2021 or until such a time when the Minister appoints a new board. The extension will allow for sufficient time to finalize the appointment process of new NAB board members.
