Occupational Health and Safety Policy
The Namibian Agronomic Board (NAB) is governed by the Agronomic Industry Act No. 20 of 1992 with the mandate to promote the agronomic industry and to facilitate the production, processing, storage, and marketing of controlled products in Namibia.
Inspection services are needed to facilitate the production, processing, storage, and marketing of controlled agronomic and horticultural products, hence the establishment of a fully-fledged inspection body.
The NAB set itself a vision to become a globally recognised regulator of a sustainable, agile and innovative agronomy and horticulture sector. To achieve this vision, NAB commits itself to implement ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Standard – Conformity assessment – Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspections as a basis on which inspection activities are carried out.
Additionally, NAB shall maintain accreditation for inspection to ISO/IEC 17020:2012 – Agronomic and Horticultural Products and expand accreditation scopes, whenever necessary to demonstrate that inspection services are carried out in a competent, impartial, and consistent manner.
